Christopher Nolan Interview

Christopher Nolan
Nolan's directing style is very calm, careful and professional. He was self taught and his first movie was following.

The Dark Knight Rises:

In each of the three films of the Batman Trilogy, the villain needed to be able to fight Batman toe-to-toe and make it as if Batman cannot walk away from the fight.

Choice of character: for Bane, the eyes and voice were very important due to the fact his face is covered mainly by a mask. This is why he chose Tom Hardy.

Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale, Will Smith and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Catwoman needed to be a very fluent fighter and have a very elegant and sexy look. This is why Nolan chose Anne Hathaway; he also commented that she trained for many months and the fight scenes were like dance moves. Also she did all her own stunts. This added to the realism.
